Mock draft experts around the country have linked Wisconsin All-American center Peter Konz to the Baltimore Ravens and the two sides are scheduled to meet, according to Aaron Wilson of The Carroll County Times.

Konz, 22, was a three-year starter and an All-Big Ten Conference selection that resembles the Ravens’ current center, Matt Birk.

Despite missing the final three games of the season because of a dislocated left ankle, the 6-foot-6, 315-pounder is renowned for his athleticism, physical strength and technique at the point of attack.

The Ravens, who hold the 29th pick in this month’s draft, should strongly consider taking Konz with that pick. At that point in the draft, he’ll most likely be the best available player on the board, and he’s a perfect fit for the Ravens’ blocking scheme

Not only would Konz fill a big need, as Birk is in the twilight of his career– but in the short-term — Konz could fill another need at left guard as a possible replacement to Ben Grubbs.

Konz also has visits or private workouts with the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans.
