Like a fine wine, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo only seems to be getting better with age.
Ayanbadejo, 35, played in more games (16) this season alone than in the previous two seasons combined (14). He also posted career-highs in solo tackles (31), pass deflections (2) and sacks (1.5).
It was somewhat surprising to see Ayanbadjeo play such a big role defensively, considering he’s been highly-regarded and renowned for his great special teams play and not so much for his defensive play.
Ayanbadejo will enter this off-season as a free agent and he took to twitter last Wednesday, saying the Ravens should expect “no discounts.” He went on to say that it wouldn’t take much to keep him in the Charm City and that he just wants to “be treated fairly.”
Given the fact that Ayanbadejo may not have too many more opportunities of getting to a Super Bowl, he may ultimately have to ask himself what’s worth playing more for: the money or a ring?
