Tommy’s Downtown Tavern… More than just a Baltimore Sports Bar

Located at 839 W. Cross and Hamburg Street — Tommy’s Downtown Tavern — is just not your typical Baltimore sports bar — it’s a whole lot more and then some.

Tommy’s Downtown Tavern will be closing its doors at the end of February if they can’t attract new customers on a regular basis. It’s located in the heart of the Pigtown neighborhood, a neighborhood that needs this kind of place to stick around. If you haven’t been there yet, now is the time to check it out and keep going before it’s too late.

From a personal standpoint, I can’t express just how thankful and grateful I am to owner Tommy Fox, who took a chance on a 19-year-old college sophomore, and allowed me the opportunity to broadcast my internet Baltimore Ravens talk show (The Black and Purple Report)  at his bar before each and every Ravens game with my good friend and co-host, Daniel Radov.

I have to say in all honesty, Tommy’s Downtown Tavern really started to grow on me as the season progressed, and it became a big part of my life and broadcasting career. It was an experience that I’ll never forget. Tommy gave me my first break in terms of broadcasting in front of a live, viewing audience and that’s something that is irreplaceable.

As I mentioned before, this is just not your typical sports bar — it’s a family owned business, with great eats, excellent service, outstanding people and they support the local community every chance they get. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention, they’re also crazy for their hometown Ravens!

Hey, if you don’t believe me, just check out the exceptional reviews for yourself. If you’re looking to help save a local sports bar and create a place that can leave a lasting legacy, here’s your chance.

I know I’m going to do my part. From now on, I’ll be heading down to Tommy’s on a weekly basis whether it’s for a soda or one of their delicious hamburgers, come down and join me and see what all the hype is about.
