In a twist of events, Pittsburgh Steelers linebackers coach Keith Butler cancelled an interview for the Indianapolis Colts’ defensive coordinator’s job and has decided to remain in Pittsburgh, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Butler was the clear-cut favorite to take over the defense under new Colts head coach Chuck Pagano and had a meeting planned for Tuesday in Indianapolis. However, the interview was called off after Butler met with team president Art Rooney II and head coach Mike Tomlin.

According to the paper
, Butler likely received a heft pay-raise and reached an agreement with the team that he will succeed legendary defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau– who is 74 –whenever LeBeau decides to retire.
