Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will receive $200,000 for every Ravens postseason victory, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL.com.
With his rookie contract set to expire after the 2012 season, Flacco has made it known that he would like to get a deal done sooner rather than later.
The fourth-year veteran also knows that any real leverage he’ll have in negotiations only will be gained during this year’s playoffs after a season in which Flacco failed to reach many of his 2010 numbers.
Flacco posted decent numbers in this year’s regular season, passing for 3,610 yards, 20 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and he also tied a career in fumbles with 11. Having started all 64 regular season games in his four seasons, Flacco has proven to be one of the toughest and most reliable quarterbacks in all the NFL.
Anyway, Flacco has already locked up about $6.4 million in base salary for the 2012 season. In addition to the $1.36 million he’ll earn in base salary, Flacco has earned $4.4 million in escalators based on playing time, plus other bonuses.
