The Baltimore Ravens can clinch a playoff birth with a win this Sunday night at San Diego. If Baltimore wins their last three games, they will do something they’ve never done in their brief 16-year existence.
The Ravens will earn the AFC’s top seed in the playoffs (over Houston and New England) as well as home-field advantage throughout the postseason by winning out, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com The reason Baltimore would get home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, is because the Ravens will have the better strength of victory over both Houston and New England.
The last time the Ravens hosted a home playoff games was in 2006 as a No. 2 seed, losing 15-6 to the Indianapolis Colts.
Baltimore’s last three games are as follow: at San Diego, home against Cleveland and at Cincinnati.
As long as the Ravens focus at the task at hand, and take these next three games on a week-by-week basis, there is little reason to doubt that the Ravens will not end up with the conference’s No.1 seed.
