Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs took his game to another level in Thursday night’s dominant 16-6 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
Suggs had his second three sack performance of the season in the win. His first three sack performance came in week one against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The ninth-year veteran now leads the Ravens with nine sacks for the season. Additionally, the Ravens are an impressive 47-17 when Suggs gets one sack, and 12-1 in games where he has at least two sacks.
For his career, the 29-year-old Suggs has 77.5 sacks.
Slowly but surely, Suggs helped Baltimore gain control of the game in the second half against San Francisco. The more and more 49ers quarterback Alex Smith dropped back, the more and more the Ravens began to pressure him, making life in the pocket very uncomfortable for the former No. 1 overall pick.
Smith eluded Suggs several times, but it was a difficult task. Seemingly every time Smith dropped back, Suggs was there in the backfield wreaking serious havoc.
