Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle, Haloti Ngata sat out of practice Wednesday and Thursday due to a thigh injury, but is expected to play Sunday night against the rival Pittsburgh Steelers.
That’s encouraging news for a Ravens defense that ranks number one in the NFL in total defense.
If you remember, in week one’s 35-7 thrashing of the Steelers, Ngata decked Pittsburgh running back Rashard Mendenhall in the backfield to open up the second-half, causing a fumble, which was recovered by the Ravens.
Ngata is one of the main reasons why the Ravens run defense has been so stout this season, as the team ranks third in the NFL, yielding just 89.1 yards per game.
For the season, Ngata has recorded 28 tackles, three sacks and has forced two fumbles.
