In his second year with the Baltimore Ravens, defensive tackle Terrence Cody is coming into his own and living up to the hype that followed him at the University of Alabama.
Cody, who was an instrumental piece to the Crimson Tide’s national title team in 2010, was drafted in the second round of the 2010 draft by the Ravens. He started just one game in his rookie campaign, in part because he was overweight and because of his questionable work ethic.
During the offseason, Cody shredded 25 pounds, dropping from 360 to 335 pounds. After cutting veteran Kelly Gregg for salary cap reasons, Cody was immediately called upon to fill the void.
He’s now become a force in the middle of the Ravens defense, which ranks second in the NFL in rush defense (72.5 yards per game) and third overall in total defense.
