Ngata Fined $15K for hit on Sanchez

Baltimore Ravens All-Pro defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was fined $15,000 by the NFL for roughing the passer with his hit on Jets starting quarterback Mark Sanchez in Sunday night’s 34-17 win.

Ngata, 27, was fined for lowering his head and decking Sanchez on the pass play.

No penalty was assessed during the game, and the play led to one of the Ravens’ three defensive touchdowns, a 26-yard fumble recovery by linebacker Jarret Johnson that gave Baltimore a 27-7 lead over the Jets.
