Williams broke the news via twitter:

“Got the opportunity to live out my dream,” Williams wrote via his Twitter account (i_amQUAN). “Made the 53 man roster. Phase 1 complete now time to take my game to the next level.”

Williams, 23, from the University of Maryland, hauled in four passes for 84 yards in four preseason games. However, the reason Williams will be suiting for September 11th’s opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers, is not because of his pass catching skills, but his knack for returning punts and kicks. Williams averaged an impressive 35.5 yards on two punt returns and 30.5 yards on two kick returns.

With fellow wide receiver and return man David Reed sidelined week one for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy, expect to see the undrafted rookie, Laquan Williams running back kick-offs for the Ravens.
