Staff Predictions Week 2: Ravens at Bengals
[UPDATE: I made a huge error by mistaking Dan Soderberg for Derrick Burnett. The correct group of staffers that made these predictions are Gene Winner, Conoon Kim, and Dan Soderberg.]
Offensive MVP:
Gene’s prediction
Willis McGahee:
-27 rushing yards, 3 TDs
-McGahee won’t rack up all the rushing yards (that will be Ray Rice’s department), but he is a red zone threat and the team will use him to score when needed.
Conoon’s prediction
T.J. Houshmandzadeh:
-6 catches, 79 yards, 1 TD
-How can you not go with Housh going wild in this game?
Dan’s prediction
Ray Rice:
-87 rushing yards, 37 yards receiving, 1 TD
-After being bottled up by the Jets, the “other” Ray will go off against the Bengals.
Defensive MVP:
Gene’s prediction
Haloti Ngata:
-9 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble
-Defense Coordinator Greg Mattison is lining up Ngata in different places— this will help him make more plays.
Conoon’s prediction
Ray Lewis:
-8 tackles, 1 assisted sack
-Ray won’t have spectacular numbers, but he will be the reason why the Ravens leave Paul Brown Stadium with a win. He will help shut down the run and wreak havoc on the opposing O-line. (Also, watch out for a big hit on Chad Ochocino.)
Dan’s prediction
Haloti Ngata:
-6 tackles, 1 sack
-”Ngata Chance” Benson goes for 100 yards again.
Final Game Score:
Gene’s prediction
Ravens win, 24 – 23
Conoon’s prediction
Ravens win, 17-14
Dan ‘s prediction
Ravens win, 27 – 13
