Virtual Ravens Respected by Madden 11 and EA

I remember how at the start of the season last year, former Head Coach Steve Mariucci chose the Baltimore Ravens and the Green Bay Packers for his Super Bowl favorites. Well, he might have been a year early on his picks.

EA Sports released the results of their official simulation of the new Madden 11 video-game and what do you know, the Baltimore Ravens and the Green Bay Packers finished the simulated season with the best records and home-field advantages for playoffs.

Here are some notable accomplishments by the Ravens:
-Head Coach John Harbaugh received Coach of the Year honors
-Linebacker Terrell Suggs was named Defensive Player of the Year
-Joe Flacco threw for 4,112 yards and had 25 touchdowns, 12 interceptions
-Ray Rice ran for 1,311 yards and scored 9 touchdowns
-Anquan Boldin caught 96 receptions for 1,179 yards and 8 touchdowns

Not bad. But remember that, in the end, this is just a video-game with no legitimate merits. Last year, EA predicted the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles to dominate their respective conferences. That never happened in real life.

So while these facts and stats might be interesting, they’re not to be taken seriously. Purely entertainment, just enjoy!
