If you haven’t heard already…
Multiple sources reported that Ravens’ Safety Ed Reed went through surgery for his hip.
Now a source close to Reed has confirmed these reports. Brad Davis, a friend and financial advisor to Reed, told media that Reed did in fact have a procedure on his hip.
According to Davis, hip specialist Dr. Marc Philippon repaired Reed’s torn labrum last week. Philippon also found a floating fragment of bone that has been causing pain to Reed.
After the surgery, Davis expressed confidence in Reed’s ability to play in 2010. He said, “Ed is as committed to football as I have ever seen… Come September, if everything continues to go well with his health, Ed will be on the field.”
Reed will most likely be unable to participate in the Ravens’ upcoming minicamp, but he should definitely be present in September for game 1.
This is a big sigh of relief for the “City that Reeds.”
