Looks like I’m 2 for 3 so far.
After questioning the likelihood of the return of Ben Roethlisberger, Santonio Holmes, and Willie Parker to Pittsburgh in black and gold, 2 of them have now parted ways with the Steelers.
Just a few hours ago, NFL.com reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers have traded their star wide receiver Santonio Holmes to the New York Jets for a 5th-round draft pick.
About 2 weeks ago, I wrote a post regarding a woman accusing Holmes of assaulting her. Now Holmes is facing another off-field issue that could lead to a 4-game suspension. That issue is the speculation of Holmes’ misconduct with the substance abuse policy. Chances are, he will get suspended.
No wonder the Steelers gave him up in such a hurry. To settle for a 5th-round pick shows how fed up the Steelers are with Holmes. Could this sudden move be related to the DA’s announcement on Roethlisberger’s case tomorrow?
Tomorrow could mean the loss of Roethlisberger, and this trade could imply the Steelers are trying to clean house and head in a new direction.
Whatever the reason may be, things aren’t going well in Pittsburgh.
But this is great news for the Baltimore Ravens and their fans. We might just be the team to beat in the AFC North for many years to come.
