Steelers Facing More Off-Field Player Issues

The future of Santonio Holmes, Ben Roethlisberger, and Willie Parker is under fire.

Less than a month after Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger was accused of assaulting a woman, WR Santonio Holmes has stirred the media with an assault case of his own.

A woman in Florida is suing Holmes for supposedly hitting her in the face with a glass and trying to keep her silent by paying her. Police are still investigating this case, but so far Holmes has denied the accusations.

This must not be a good week for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Whether or not Roethlisberger and Holmes are innocent, these charges are sure to impact the team negatively. When voluntary workouts for veterans started earlier this week, Roethlisberger was not there. Sources report that the Steelers felt Roethlisberger was too distracted to join the team for workouts.

In addition to these issues, RB Willie Parker has become a rising concern for the Steelers. He told the “Pittsburgh Post-Gazette” that he was very bitter with his team and that he’d rather sit out the season next year than play for them again. I don’t know about you, but that’s total disrespect. Parker’s days in black and gold might be coming to an end.

With the possibility of losing their franchise quarterback, star receiver, and backup running back, the Steel Curtain is looking very brittle right now.
