Baltimore on track to Super Bowl XLV with the addition of Anquan Boldin

I just couldn't wait to see what he'd look like in purple, so I did my own little "artist rendition."

Welcome to post #1 of The Purple Chaos!

So in a way, I started this blog as an excuse to surround myself with the Ravens 24/7… but my ultimate goal is to build a community where just about anyone can come to for news, opinions, and information on anything related to football (but most likely relating to the Ravens).

For my first post, I will keep it short because I have to continue working on the aesthetics and organization of this site.

So the biggest news for today is the addition of former Arizona Cardinals wide-receiver, Anquan Boldin, to the Ravens! Although there are some issues of concern (proness to injuries, age,  the loss of early draft picks, etc.), Boldin sure does give assurance that the void in Baltimore’s passing attack will be filled. With 1,024 yards in 84 receptions, Boldin’s stats are solid and comparable to the 73 receptions for 1,028 yards of Baltimore’s No. 1 receiver, Derrick Mason. Even though Boldin was a No. 2 receiver, he was still able to match the numbers of a No. 1 receiver,  a clear indication that Boldin still has the superb ability to get open and make catches.

There’s no question to Boldin’s toughness, as he played through numerous injuries throughout last season. In addition, at 6-1 and 217 lb., there is no doubt he is a big, strong, physical receiver. He also has no character issues like Terrell Owens and Brandon Marshall, so there isn’t much unwanted  baggage coming in. Anquan Boldin seems like another smart move by Mr. Ozzie Newsome. Now we can start focusing our attention on patching up our legendary defense.
